Why Teens Shouldn't Text When Driving

My friend, Kathy Sena, over at Parent Talk Today has posted a blog that parents and teenagers really must read. It includes a public service announcement made in England that is one of the most intense and realistic videos of a car crash that I have ever seen. When my daughter gets up tomorrow morning, we'll be watching it together. It will be a rude awakening, indeed.

This video hammers home the dangers of texting while driving. We all do it. But teens are especially at risk for getting in car accidents if they are texting because they are inexperienced drivers who are easily distracted.

My daughter turns 16 next month, and videos like this scare me. I hope it scares her enough, too, to put her compulsion to text-message on hold when she takes the wheel in a few short months.

Watch for yourself . . . (Click here. YouTube deleted the video from my blog, the boogers!)
